Since the first Green ran for Governor – Jim Sykes in November 1990 in Alaska  – 129 Greens have run for Governor across the United States. Among them, 103 have run in General Elections, six in recall elections, seven in ‘top two’ elections, one  in a partisan two round run-off, and six more in contested Green Party primaries that they failed to win.
